Keunggulan lagu ini terletak pada maknanya yang begitu relate bagi banyak orang. Lirik lagu ini sangat menyentuh bagi sebagian besar orang terutama bagi perempuan yang tidak percaya diri dengan kecantikannya. Scars To Your Beautiful mendorong kita untuk menerima diri sendiri apa adanya dan tidak menyiksa diri agar bisa terlihat cantik di depan banyak orang. Lagu ini juga mengingatkan bahwa cantik bukan berarti yang bertubuh langsing saja, berkulit mulus saja, berhidung mancung saja,dan lain-lain. Sehingga ketika kita tak memiliki semua itu, kita langsung membenci diri sendiri dan melakukan segala upaya demi merombaknya. Kita harus membuka mata lebih lebar, bahwa ada kecantikan lain yang selama ini dilupakan, yaitu kecantikan dari dalam yang memang tak terlihat. Itulah pesona kita sebenarnya.
Pada lagu ini Alessia cara juga mengungkapkan bahwa kecantikan seharusnya tidak dibatasi oleh standar tertentu. Ia menegaskan bahwa semua bentuk dan warna tubuh manusia itu indah, tidak peduli laki-laki atau perempuan, tua atau muda serta anak-anak atau dewasa. Kecantikan adalah sesuatu yang kita buat sendiri melalui tingkah laku maupun keunikan kita. Setiap orang di dunia ini seharusnya menerima apapun kekurangan dan kelebihan dirinya sendiri, tanpa harus membandingkan dengan orang lain. Keunggulan lagu ini juga bertambah dengan nada lagu yang menurut saya sangat cocok dengan liriknya, sehingga tak heran jika lagu ini disukai banyak orang.
